On Sundays
The Molonglo Valley Gospel Community meets every Sunday in the Denman Village Community Centre at 11am (see map). We like to think about church as the people who gather together rather than just ‘what we do on Sunday.’ That means our Sunday Gatherings might look a little different to other churches. You’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you feel comfortable – no judgement, no pressure. We’ll always hear a passage from the Bible and have a time of prayer. Some Sundays there will be a sermon reflecting on the Bible passage, others will have a guided discussion, group activity, or individual reflection. We’ll often sing at least a couple of songs, have an interactive activity for the kids. We regularly share the bread and wine of Communion (The Lord’s Supper / Eucharist). To see a bit about what this Sunday will be like, check the date below. At the end of our gathering each Sunday we have lunch together (we find bring-your-own works best for everyone’s dietary requirements), either in the community centre or across the road at the new playground. You’re welcome to hang around and chat.
Where Do I Go?
We meet upstairs in the Denman Village Community Centre on Felstead Vista (map), just west of the shops. Someone will be at the door from about 10.50am to welcome you and give you directions. There’s plenty of parking available across the road from the community centre if the carpark happens to be full.
Do I Need to Bring Anything?
Come as you are and if you can an openness to experiencing God and a friendly attitude that’s great.
You can also bring your own lunch for after the service.
What About Kids?
Families and kids are welcome. We think it’s important for kids to know that they’re part of the church as well. That means the kids stay together in the same room as the adults and we make sure there’s some interactive activities which they can get involved with if they want, like acting out a Bible reading.
Most Sundays there’s also an activity for the kids with a grown-up to help (if there’s not, we’ll have some colouring in and puzzle sheets for those who want them).
