Celebrate Easter in the Molonglo Valley
Where do you find hope in difficult times?
At the first Easter, Jesus Christ was betrayed, arrested, and brutally killed by the imperial Roman authorities. That alone wouldn't be a story worth telling, but it's not the end. What nobody expected was that three days later, the tomb was empty. Jesus had risen from the dead, and appeared to hundreds of people before returning to heaven and promising his Spirit would always be with us.
For two thousand years the resurrection of Jesus has given people a reason to hope when hope seemed impossible. The story of Easter is that death and darkness don't get the last word.
That's worth celebrating!

There are many ways you can join in the Easter celebrations.
The Thursday before Easter Sunday (2 April) was Jesus' last meal with his closest friends before his arrest. We'll have our own meal together, and share the story of Easter with a Q&A discussion. You're welcome to bring your own questions, or just enjoy the food and listen. From 6.30pm at the Denman Village Community Centre.
Good Friday (3 April) is when Jesus was crucified. You're invited to see a dramatisation of Jesus' arrest, death, and burial at Immanuel Woden Valley Lutheran Church.
On Easter Sunday (5 April) we'll be gathering at dawn to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus as we see the sun rise. There'll be singing, prayer, and Holy Communion with BBQ breakfast afterwards. You're welcome to join in as much or as little as you'd like. Meeting at 6am at Ridgeline Park.
